Linux and macOS

Unpack, move it onto your PATH, and check it runs.

sudo install -m 755 nexus-linux-amd64/nexus /usr/local/bin/nexus
nexus --version

Use the file name you downloaded. On a Mac, if macOS blocks the file the first time, clear the download flag with xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /usr/local/bin/nexus.

Windows

In PowerShell, from the folder you downloaded to:

Expand-Archive nexus-windows-amd64.zip -DestinationPath .
.\nexus-windows-amd64\nexus.exe --version

Add that folder to your PATH to run nexus from anywhere.

Check the download

Download checksums.txt next to your archive, then:

sha256sum --ignore-missing -c checksums.txt

On macOS use shasum -a 256 -c checksums.txt. On Windows, Get-FileHash prints the SHA-256 to compare.

NexusRun runs models through Ollama or llama.cpp. Not sure where to start? Your first local AI helper walks through installing a model and running it.

NexusRun Studio · the visual builder

Build a workflow by drawing it.

Studio is a canvas for AI workflows. Add an agent, drag one of your own models onto it, connect it to the next step, and press Run. It writes the standard nexus-compose.yaml, so what you draw is what ships.

Your models, on the canvas

Studio finds the models already on your computer and marks the ones that fit in memory. Drag one onto an agent.

Test a model before you trust it

One click on Test this model asks it a short question and shows you how it answered and how long it took.

Watch it run

Press Run and follow every step live: what each agent was given, what it answered, and how fast.

A plain file at the end

Everything you draw is saved as nexus-compose.yaml in a folder you own. Open it in any editor, or in Studio.

Private by design

Studio runs on your computer and listens only to it. Nothing about your work is sent anywhere.

Light and dark

Follows your system, or switch it from the toolbar. A short welcome shows once and never again if you ask.

Get NexusRun Studio

A desktop app that opens in its own window. When you close the window it stops, and your workflows stay in ~/NexusRun.

Install on Ubuntu or Debian

sudo apt install ./NexusRun.Studio_0.1.3_amd64.deb

Then open NexusRun Studio from your applications menu. The package also installs the nexus command.

Install on macOS or Windows

macOS: open the .dmg and drag NexusRun Studio to Applications. If macOS blocks the first launch, Control-click the app and choose Open.

Windows: run the -setup.exe installer. If SmartScreen appears, choose More info, then Run anyway.

Checksums for every file are in SHA256SUMS on the release page.

Already have NexusRun?

nexus studio --workspace ~/NexusRun

Studio is built into the nexus command and opens in your browser. Add --app for a window without browser tabs.
